Pennsylvania Artist Blacksmith Association

leafPABA is an organization devoted to the craft of blacksmithing and related metalworking. Founded in 1987, PABA is a regional chapter of the Artist-Blacksmiths' Association of North America (ABANA).

Our members include both professional and amateur metalworkers from across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. PABA members are young, not so young, male, female, artists, blacksmiths, farriers, jewelers, sculptors, students, welders, truck drivers, surgeons, teachers, and many other occupations. The styles and procedures of our members literally span the centuries and include the most contemporary ideas and processes.

members smithingThe one common thread tying us all together is our interest in working with metal. We try to promote the art and craft of metalworking through educational and interactive programs and activities. These purposes are accomplished through regular meetings, demonstrations by noted metalworkers, workshops and conferences, and a chapter newsletter.

You only need the desire to be a blacksmith to be a member of PABA.

This site is an extension of the aforementioned ideals, and your interest, ideas, and participation are greatly encouraged. If you would like more information on PABA, events, or memberships, or have an idea, contact us here PABA.
